Alexandria Stuetzel on champion Cougars

Congratulations to Alexandria Stuetzel, of Feeding Hills, a member of the 2016 HCC Women's Soccer team, which defeated NCJAA Div. III rival Springfield Technical Community College 4-0 Sunday, Oct. 23, to win the New England Championship (Region XXI) for the fifth consecutive year.

Midfielder Natalie Galindo, the team's leading scorer (15), scored the Cougars' first goal in the 26th minute in the first half, with an assist from McKenzie Wilson. The Cougars added three goals in the second half from Olivia Neiswanger, Jennifer Galindo and Taydrah Clinton.

Goalkeeper MyKaela O'Connell recorded her ninth shutout of the season.

HCC will now play for the District Championship Sat., Oct. 29, 12 noon, at home on O'Connell Field.

The 2016 women's soccer team includes Taydrah Clinton, Jennifer Galindo, Natalie Galindo, Emma Gomes, Rebekah Herring, Catherine Hotham, Reilly Jodoin, Yesenia Leon-Velazquez, Olivia Neiswanger, MyKaela O'Connell, Alexis Rios, Alexandria Stuetzel, Noelle Tetreault, McKenzie Wilson and Allison Zollo.

The team is coached by former Holyoke Community College All-New England goalkeeper Rob Galazka.
