Christa Hurley inducted into Psi Beta

Christa Hurley, of Agawam, is one of 10 Holyoke Community College students who are being inducted into the campus chapter of Psi Beta for the 2015-2016 school year.

Psi Beta is a national honors society in psychology for community colleges, recognized by the American Psychological Association, the leading scientific and professional organization for psychology in the United States.

Membership in Psi Beta requires students to achieve a GPA that puts them in the top 35 percent of the student body, completion of at least three courses in psychology at the college with at least a B average or better. To be inducted, HCC psychology students must not only maintain the highest academic standards, but each semester they must remain actively engaged in one or more projects or activities related to psychology. Students must also demonstrate a genuine interest in psychology and high standards in personal behavior.

HCC will recognize the new members of Psi Beta at Honors Convocation on Friday, Oct. 16, in the Leslie Phillips Theater.
