Jessica Booth chosen as HCC Orientation Leader

2014 Oct 6

Congratulations to Jessica Booth, of Sturbridge, for being chosen as an HCC Orientation Leader for the 2014-2015 school year.

Orientation Leaders at HCC are a select group of students chosen for their academic standing (minimum GPA of a 3.0), strong leadership and public speaking skills. The primary role of an Orientation Leader is to provide guidance and facilitate New Student Orientation activities before the start of each academic semester.

An Orientation Leader's responsibility lies in the successful transition of new students to Holyoke Community College. Orientation Leaders serve as guides, information officers, and advisors for new students and their families who attend one of HCC's mandatory orientation sessions each summer and spring. They are expected to complete their volunteer jobs to make each New Student Orientation program a success.

In all their tasks, Orientation Leaders must recognize that providing excellent customer service to incoming students and their families is a top priority.
