Joshua Wielgosz on theater production crew

2015 Oct 5

Joshua Wielgosz, of Holyoke, has been selected as a member of HCC's Fall 2015 theater production team.

The HCC Theater Department will present American Hero, by Bess Wohl, Nov. 12-14 and Nov. 19-21 at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee performance on Sat., Nov. 21, at 2 p.m. All performances will be held in the Leslie Phillips Theater, in HCC's Fine and Performing Arts building.

The production team performs critical offstage roles in the planning and execution of theater performances, such as set design, wardrobe, props, lighting, sound and stage management.

The play is being directed by HCC theater professor Patricia Sandoval.

The play is set in a toasted subs franchise in the local mall, three sandwich artists are perfecting the mustard to cheese ratio according to the company manual. But when their shot at the American dream is interrupted by a series of strange events, they become unlikely allies in a post-recession world. "American Hero" is a supersized dark comedy about life, liberty and the pursuit of sandwiches.

The Friday, Nov. 20, show will be ASL-Interpreted.

Tickets are $10 (general admission); $8 for students and seniors; and $5 for members of the HCC community (students, staff and faculty) with a valid I.D.
