Laura Dalton on theater production team

2014 Mar 4

Laura Dalton, of Greenfield, has been selected as a member of HCC's Spring 2014 theater production team.

The HCC Players will present Living Out, a play by Lisa Loomer, on April 24, 25 and 26, at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee performance on Saturday, April 26, at 2 p.m. All performances will be held in the Leslie Phillips Theater, in HCC's Fine and Performing Arts building.

The production team performs critical offstage roles in the planning and execution of theater performances, such as set design, wardrobe, props, lighting, sound and stage management.

The play is being directed by HCC theater professor Patricia Sandoval with a set designed by HCC theater professor Chris Hoyt.

The play is set in present day Los Angeles and tells the story of a complicated relationship between Ana, a Salvadorian nanny, and the lawyer she works for. Both women are smart, hard-working mothers. Both want better lives for their children. The play explores the shared humanity between them -- and the differences wrought by race, class and Ana's illegal status.

The play remains both funny and tragic as it looks at the prejudices and misconceptions between different cultures.

Tickets are $10 (general admission); $8 for students and seniors; and $5 for members of the HCC community (students, staff and faculty) with a valid I.D.
