Tomas Roche chosen for 'American Hero'

2015 Sep 28

Tomas Roche, of Holyoke, has been selected as a cast member for HCC's Fall 2015 theater production of American Hero.

The Holyoke Community College Theater Department will present the play by Bess Wohl Nov. 12-14 and Nov. 19-21 at 7:30 p.m. with a matinee performance Nov. 21 at 2 p.m. All performances will be held in the Leslie Phillips Theater in HCC's Fine and Performing Arts Building.

The play is being directed by HCC theater professor Patricia Sandoval.

The play is set in a toasted subs franchise in the local mall, where three sandwich artists are perfecting the mustard to cheese ratio according to the company manual. But when their shot at the American dream is interrupted by a series of strange events, they become unlikely allies in a post-recession world. "American Hero" is a supersized dark comedy about life, liberty and the pursuit of sandwiches.

The Friday, Nov. 20, show will be ASL-Interpreted.

Ticket are $10 general admission; $8 students and seniors; $5 for members of the HCC community.
