Tomas Roche chosen for Fall theater production

2014 Sep 23

Tomas Roche, of Holyoke, has been selected as a cast member for HCC's Fall 2014 theater production of When the Rain Stops Falling.

The Holyoke Community College Theater Department will present the play by Andrew Bovell Nov. 13-15 and Nov. 20-22 at 7:30 p.m. with a matinee performance Nov. 22 at 2 p.m. All performances will be held in the Leslie Phillips Theater in HCC's Fine and Performing Arts Building.

The play is being directed by HCC theater professor Tim Cochran with set design by theater professor Chris Hoyt and costume design by Ashley Tyler.

Sixty students auditioned for the nine stage roles. "Casting was a very difficult process," Cochran said. "I am impressed by the exceptional talent that we have here at Holyoke Community College."

In When the Rain Stops Falling, a son searches for identity and redemption in a family torn apart by their past. The play moves from the claustrophobia of a 1950s London flat to the heart of the Australian desert in 2039.

Tickets are $10 (general admission); $8 for students and seniors; and $5 for members of the HCC community (students, staff and faculty) with a valid I.D.
