Holyoke Community College is proud to announce the new members of the campus chapter of Psi Beta. Psi Beta is a national honors society in psychology for community colleges, recognized by the American Psychological Association, the leading scientific and professional organization for psychology in the United States.

Holyoke Community College is proud to announce its Green Key Honor Society members for the 2015-2016 school year. The Green Key Honor Society is a leadership and service organization dedicated to representing HCC at community and college events. Members serve the entire college community as tour guides, hosts, and ushers at special events such as orientation, college fairs, and information sessions.

Each fall, Holyoke Community College recognizes the academic excellence of students who have achieved a 3.5 cumulative grade point average, or higher, after completing a minimum of 30 semester hours of work at HCC. These students are invited to join the international honor society Phi Theta Kappa and are recognized at Convocation. Congratulations to them for all their hard work!

Congratulations to the students selected as members of the technical and production crew for HCC's Fall 2015 play. The HCC Theater Department will present American Hero Nov. 12-14 and Nov. 19-21 at 7:30 p.m. in HCC's Leslie Phillips Theater, with a matinee on Nov. 21 at 2 p.m. The technical and production team performs critical offstage roles in the planning and execution of theater performances, such as set design, wardrobe, props, lighting, sound and stage management.

Congratulations to the students who have been selected to appear on stage in HCC's Fall 2015 theater production, "American Hero." The HCC Theater Department will present the play by Bess Wohl Nov. 12-14 and Nov. 19-21 at 7:30 in the Leslie Phillips Theater in HCC's Fine & Performing Arts Building, with a matinee performance Nov. 21 at 2 p.m. The play is being directed by HCC theater professor Patricia Sandoval.

Each academic term, Holyoke Community College recognizes superior scholarship through the Dean's List. A student is placed on the Dean's List if his or her G.P.A. is 3.2 or higher. These students have earned Dean's List honors for Summer 2015.

These students have received awards for the 2014-2015 academic year and were honored at a ceremony the evening of May 28 in HCC's Leslie Phillips Theater. Congratulations!

The Holyoke Community College Foundation awards more than 200 endowed scholarships each year to deserving students. These scholarships, for new, current and transferring students, have been made possible through the generosity of alumni, friends, faculty, trustees and community-minded corporations. Congratulations to all of this year's recipients!

Congratulations to the students who have been selected to appear in the three short plays to be performed during the HCC Theater Department's "Evening of One-Acts" April 2-4 at 7:30 p.m. The three plays will be performed each night in room 111 of HCC's Fine & Performing Arts Building. The plays are being directed by HCC alum Mike Pray, Class of 2008, and produced by HCC students.

The HCC Theater Department will present the Tennessee Williams' class play April 23-25 at 7:30 p.m. in the Leslie Phillips Theater in HCC's Fine & Performing Arts Building, with a matinee performance April 25 at 2 p.m. The play is being directed by Tom Geha with stage design and lighting by Chris Hoyt.

The Student Senate represents the voice of the students to the administration of the college. The senate provides and promotes a partnership in governance among all segments of the college community to ensure the welfare of HCC as an institution and the student body as a whole. Throughout the year, the senate plans and participates in activities and events that contribute to the college and the surrounding community.

Orientation Leaders at HCC are a select group of students chosen for their academic standing (minimum GPA of a 3.0), strong leadership and public speaking skills. The primary role of an Orientation Leader is to provide guidance and facilitate New Student Orientation activities before the start of each academic semester.
